Joslin Diabetes Center is the preeminent diabetes research facility world-wide, and is directly affiliated with the Harvard Medical School of Boston Massachusetts.
Joslin Diabetes Center
is at the forefront of the battle against the world diabetes epidemic – seeking the defeat of diabetes in each and all of its manifestations by employing pioneering research and advanced methodologies, both for the development of knowledge, and in clinical pathways. It is both a research and a teaching affiliate of the Harvard Medical School.
Every individual at Joslin is passionately dedicated to actualizing their shared dream of a world in which diabetes and all of its accompanying impediments have been erased from the face of the earth through a never ceasing pursuit of their mission. Their mission statement speaks of their fervent desire to improve the lives of individuals afflicted with diabetes and its corollary pathologies through innovations in care, research and education that will eventually lead to the discovery of a means for the prevention and cure of the diabetes.

The Joslin Story
Joslin Diabetes Center
was created over 100 years ago by Elliot P. Joslin, M.D. His belief was that the involvement of the patient in the management of his/her treatment was paramount and achievable through empowering the patient 
through education. This mindset still drives the functioning and growth of the Center to this day, and will continue into the future.
The Center is internationally recognized for the advancements it has made and continues to make by allowing clinicians and those doing basic research to be able to work within a culture which promotes and nurtures creativity and is a driving force for new discoveries. It is well known in the field that many of the seminal breakthroughs and advancements in the treatment and care of diabetes were discovered and developed at the Joslin Diabetes Center.
Joslin believed that it could effect a global impact on diabetes care and treatment by expanding its programs and facilities, and through the forging of affiliations and partnerships with other like minded institutions. The long history of its success in doing so has shown the wisdom of this precept and its effectiveness in the execution of this long term strategy.
